Road to Denver: National Delegates Page

This past weekend, the campaign launched a new constituents page dedicated to our National Delegates. This page will serve as a kick-off for the Democratic National Convention that takes place on August 25-28 in Denver.

For all of the supporters who are not delegates, you can check out the page to read the blog and learn more about who is representing your state.

These delegates are just like you – they volunteered their time to travel, knock on doors, phonebank, go to events, and recruit more supporters to become a part of this campaign.

Genevieve, a delegate from Arizona, spent almost a year volunteering with Arizonians for Obama. She canvassed across the state, in Nevada, worked on visibility materials and attended numerous grassroots events. She is also a precinct captain for her district.

During her volunteer time in Arizona, she met people across her state, each one working for the same cause. She has made long-lasting friendships and changed her outlook on how one person can change the injustices of the world.

As the convention approaches, delegates just like Genevieve will be preparing to take the trip to Denver. Genevieve is looking forward to meeting other delegates and working with everyone during the August trip.

This August they will be representing all of us – young and old, white and black, gay and straight, Latino and Asian, men and women – to make Barack’s Democratic nomination official.

The National Delegates page will also serve as a resource page for official delegates, where delegates can create accounts, join the official delegate group and connect with other official delegates. They can blog, read delegate profiles, discuss travel plans, find out about FEC guidelines, get questions answered, and begin the process of making the convention their own.

The page will be updated frequently, so official delegates should check back often for the news and information you’ll need as a national delegate for Barack.

All of you have been the heart of this movement for more than a year, and we won the nomination because of your hard work.

You have made this campaign your own and you can do the same thing with the convention, because it’s about you. It’s about the millions of voters who want to see Barack become the next President of the United States.
